Enzyme-like activity of cobalt-MOF nanosheets for hydrogen peroxide electrochemical sensing

Arismendy Portorreal-Bottier et al.

Summary: In this study, a electrochemical platform for non-enzymatic hydrogen peroxide detection was developed using a composite of two-dimensional cobalt MOF nanosheets and Nafion. The composite showed efficient charge transport, rapid electron exchange, and exhibited enzyme-like activity, leading to a high-performance sensor with rapid detection, outstanding sensitivity, selectivity, stability, and durability at neutral pH. This work introduces the concept of using cobalt-based MOFs as active nanozymes for non-enzymatic electrochemical sensing devices.
