Assessment of cognitive instrumental activities of daily living: a systematic review

Summary: This systematic review identified tests for assessing executive functions related to instrumental activities of daily living, primarily focusing on the adult population with acquired brain damage, cognitive impairment, or dementia. The most widely used traditional methods were performance-based measures, with a predominance of tests based on the Multiple Errands Test paradigm. In recent years, there has been an increase in tools that assess instrumental activities of daily living using technologies such as personal or environmental sensors and serious games.

Black-White Disparities in Social and Behavioral Determinants of Health Index and Their Associations with Self-rated Health and Functional Limitations in Older Adults

Summary: The study found that black older adults in the United States have a higher mean cumulative risk score for social and behavioral determinants of health compared to white older adults, and they are more likely to report poorer health status. Black older adults are more likely to report lower self-rated health than white older adults, regardless of SDoH risk factors, but those with high risk factors are more likely to report functional limitations in both racial groups.
