Sensitivity and uncertainty quantification of neutronic integral data in the TRIGA Mark II research reactor

Summary: This study developed a model of the Moroccan research reactor TRIGA Mark II and used Monte Carlo transport codes to evaluate the sensitivity and uncertainty of its effective multiplication factor. The results showed small uncertainty deviations for the neutron reactions of O-16 and U-238, while higher uncertainties were observed for the reactions of U-235 and H-1. The neutron spectra were found to be similar among different evaluations.

Summary: This paper evaluates the eigenvalue sensitivity and uncertainty analysis of the Moroccan TRIGA Mark II research reactor to assess the impact of nuclear data on reactor safety assessment. Comparison between different TRIGA models was conducted to increase efficiency of sensitivity and uncertainty calculations. The results indicate that uncertainties in the effective multiplication factor (k(eff)) mainly arise from U-235 fission reactions, moderator scattering, and clad absorption.
