The HITRAN2020 molecular spectroscopic database

I. E. Gordon et al.

Summary: The HITRAN database is a valuable compilation of molecular spectroscopic parameters used to predict and simulate light transmission and emission in gaseous media. The 2020 quadrennial edition of HITRAN incorporates recent experimental and theoretical data, with major updates to all five components for increased accuracy and coverage in atmospheric observations.

A mid-infrared dual-comb spectrometer in step-sweep mode for high-resolution molecular spectroscopy

Muriel Lepere et al.

Summary: To meet the challenges of high-resolution molecular spectroscopy, increasingly sophisticated spectroscopic techniques were developed. The recent development of dual-comb spectroscopy at high-resolution makes this technique a powerful tool for gas phase studies. This study reports on the use and characterization of the IRis-F1, a tabletop mid-infrared dual-comb spectrometer, in the newly developed step-sweep mode.

Quantum-cascade-laser-based dual-comb thermometry and speciation at high temperatures

Nicolas H. Pinkowski et al.

Summary: This study presents a methodology for fitting absorption-spectrum measurements made by a quantum-cascade-laser-based dual-comb spectrometer for high-temperature kinetics research. The methodology was validated with measurements at 1000 K, achieving an uncertainty of 5% for temperature and 4% for mole fraction, with higher accuracy possible with longer measurement averaging. The methodology was also demonstrated to capture temperature and methane time-history evolution during the pyrolysis of iso-octane, showing good agreement with kinetic models and discussing future applications for DCS kinetics research.

Sub-Doppler Double-Resonance Spectroscopy of Methane Using a Frequency Comb Probe

Aleksandra Foltynowicz et al.

Summary: This study reports the first measurement of sub-Doppler molecular response using a frequency comb as a probe in optical-optical double-resonance spectroscopy. They utilized a 3.3 μm continuous wave pump and a 1.67 μm comb probe to detect sub-Doppler transitions to the 2 nu(3) and 3 nu(3) bands of methane. The transition frequencies to the 3 nu(3) band showed good agreement with the TheoReTS line list.

Optical frequency comb Fourier transform spectroscopy of 14N216O at 7.8 μm

Adrian Hjalten et al.

Summary: In this study, a Fourier transform spectrometer was used for high-resolution broadband measurements of nitrous oxide, retrieving line center frequencies and upper state constants. The results showed excellent agreement with a recent study by AlSaif et al. using a comb-referenced quantum cascade laser. The origin of the hot band was determined with precision one order of magnitude better than previous work.
