A novel dynamic nonlinear partial least squares based on the cascade structure

Hao Ma et al.

Summary: A novel approach is proposed in this paper to solve the collinearity problem of input variables in industrial process modeling. This approach introduces a dynamic nonlinear cascade structure as the inner model of the conventional partial least squares (PLS) method, and eliminates the collinearity between original dependent variables using an external model. The proposed approach effectively describes the dynamic and nonlinear relationships between input and output variables.

Latent variable point-to-point iterative learning model predictive control via reference trajectory updating

Songtao Xue et al.

Summary: In this paper, a latent variable point-to-point iterative learning model predictive control algorithm (LV-PTP-ILMPC) combined with the reference trajectory updating strategy is proposed. The algorithm uses a model constructed by dynamic partial least squares (DyPLS) to extract principal components and designs the control strategy in the latent variable space. The updated reference trajectory relaxes the constraints on the system output, leading to faster convergence and broader applicability of the algorithm.

Global iterative learning control based on fuzzy systems for nonlinear multi-agent systems with unknown dynamics

Shuai Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a new global fuzzy iterative learning scheme for nonlinear multi-agent systems with unknown dynamics. Unlike traditional design schemes, where fuzzy systems are used as feedback compensators, this scheme utilizes fuzzy systems as feedforward compensators to describe the unknown dynamics, thus avoiding restrictions on the control system states. In this scheme, a hybrid fuzzy adaptive learning controller is designed based on the characteristics of the network structure. The effectiveness of this hybrid learning protocol is verified through simulations.

An Efficient Iterative Learning Predictive Functional Control for Nonlinear Batch Processes

Xiangjie Liu et al.

Summary: Iterative learning predictive functional control (ILPFC) is an efficient control method for fast batch processes with strong nonlinear dynamics. It linearizes the system along a reference trajectory and compensates for the linearization error using the Lipschitz condition, reducing the computational burden. Predictive functional control is applied in the time domain to enhance control efficiency. The stability and convergence of ILPFC with terminal constraint are theoretically analyzed, and simulations verify the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm.

Fuzzy K-Means Cluster Based Generalized Predictive Control of Ultra Supercritical Power Plant

Chuanliang Cheng et al.

Summary: This article proposes a fuzzy k-means cluster based generalized predictive control method for improving boiler combustion efficiency in a 1000 MW ultra supercritical power plant. By constructing a fuzzy k-means cluster network, the nonlinear dynamic process of the system is approximated and a global GPC method is introduced. An example demonstrates the satisfactory performance of the proposed control strategy.

Iterative Learning Model Predictive Control Based on Iterative Data-Driven Modeling

Lele Ma et al.

Summary: The use of a control-affine feedforward neural network (CAFNN) to extract process data features from previous batches and create a nonlinear affine model for current batch control design is proposed in this article. The ILMPC formulated in a tube framework based on the CAFNN model aims to minimize modeling errors and achieve sustained accuracy in tracking the reference trajectory. The offline analytical computation of objective function gradients due to the control-affine structure improves the online computational efficiency and optimization feasibility of the tube ILMPC.
