Ignition and propagation of nanosecond pulsed plasmas in distilled water-Negative vs positive polarity applied to a pin electrode

K. Grosse et al.

Summary: This paper examines nanosecond plasmas in water created by applying positive and negative polarity to a sharp tungsten electrode. It is found that plasma ignition is dominated by field effects at the electrode-liquid interface, resulting in higher surface temperature and electron density for positive polarity compared to negative polarity.

Effect of anisotropic scattering for rotational collisions on electron transport parameters in CO

L. Vialetto et al.

Summary: The study investigates the role of anisotropic scattering in rotational collisions of electrons with CO molecules using numerical simulations and calculations. Different angular scattering models are compared, with a novel anisotropic scattering model derived to describe the forward-peaked nature of rotational collisions. Comparison between Monte Carlo and LoKI-B results shows that the choice of angular scattering model has a bigger impact on swarm parameter calculations than the adoption of the two-term approximation.

Data Needs for Modeling Low-Temperature Non-Equilibrium Plasmas: The LXCat Project, History, Perspectives and a Tutorial

Emile Carbone et al.

Summary: Technologies based on non-equilibrium, low-temperature plasmas are widely used in today's society, and plasma modeling is essential for understanding, development, and optimization. LXCat is an open-access platform for storing and exchanging data related to electron and ion components of non-equilibrium, low-temperature plasmas, supporting various data types that allow users to generate swarm parameters and reaction rates through online tools.
