Ordered Macroporous MoS2-Carbon Composite with Fast and Robust Sodium Storage Properties to Solve the Issue of Kinetics Mismatch of Sodium-Ion Capacitors

Summary: In this study, a MoS2-carbon composite anode with an ordered macroporous structure and interlayer-expanded feature was designed and coupled with a homemade activated carbon cathode to achieve excellent electrochemical performance of sodium-ion capacitors. By quantifying the potential swings of the anode and cathode, it was demonstrated that the kinetics gap has been filled up by the kinetically favored anode.

Synergistic dual conversion reactions assisting Pb-S electrochemistry for energy storage

Summary: In this paper, a reliable aqueous Pb-S battery based on a dual conversion reaction was constructed, and its feasibility and advantages were demonstrated. The unique properties of PbS, including inherent insolubility and dendrite-free nature, make it a promising cathode material. The aqueous Pb-S battery exhibited high discharge capacity and capacity retention after 400 cycles. Furthermore, the feasibility of the Pb-S system was also demonstrated in a hybrid cell.

Advanced flame-retardant electrolyte for highly stabilized K-ion storage in graphite anode

Sulfur-defective vanadium sulfide/carbon fiber composites designed through a facile electrospinning method exhibit excellent storage performance and long-term cycling stability for both SIBs and PIBs. The architecture of the materials provides short-range channels, abundant adsorption sites, and enlarged interlayer spacings, resulting in reversible ion storage with low energy barriers and long cycling characteristics.
