Enhanced electrocaloric effect in the Sm and Hf co-doped BaTiO3 ceramics

Boyang Zhang et al.

Summary: By tuning the material composition, a large electrocaloric response was achieved in BHT-70BST, while BHT-50BST showed a broad working temperature window due to its diffusion behavior and multiphase coexistence.

Large electrocaloric effect and energy storage performance of site-engineered lead-free Ba1-x(Bi0.5Li0.5)xTiO3 ferroelectric oxides

Subhajit Pal et al.

Summary: The study investigates the electrocaloric effect and energy storage performance of a lead-free Ba1-x(Bi0.5Li0.5)(x)TiO3 system, showing tunable characteristics and excellent EC parameters. The x = 0.15 sample exhibits near room-temperature EC response over a broad temperature range, indicating potential applications in efficient cooling and storage devices.

Microstructure-dependent electrical properties of Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3-BaTiO3-SrTiO3 ternary solid solution

Lagen Kumar Pradhan et al.

Summary: This study investigates the evolution of microstructure and its effect on the electrical properties of ((Bi0.5Na0.5)(0.94)Ba-0.06)(0.70)Sr0.30TiO3 [BNBSTO] electroceramic. The relative dielectric constant and temperature-dependent relative permittivity both increase with the sintering temperature, while the electrical diffuseness decreases with the increase of grain size. Grain boundaries play a significant role in the electrical conductivity, and the grain size directly influences the ferroelectric properties and energy storage density.

Effect of Grain Size on the Electrocaloric Properties of Polycrystalline Ferroelectrics

Xu Hou et al.

Summary: The study found that grain size has a significant impact on the electrocaloric effect of polycrystalline ferroelectrics, with larger grain size models having higher adiabatic temperature changes and maximum adiabatic temperature values. In contrast, smaller grain size models showed lower adiabatic temperature changes and shifted maximum adiabatic temperature values to lower temperatures.
