Realization of self-powered bidirectional photoresponse in the ultraviolet/visible wavelength region in ferroelectric heterojunctions

Xuemin Shen et al.

Summary: In this study, self-powered bidirectional photodetectors with broadband and wavelength selective photodetection in the ultraviolet/visible wavelength region were demonstrated using CH3NH3PbBr3/PbZr0.52Ti0.48O3 ferroelectric heterojunctions. The photodetectors exhibited positive sensitivity in the UV spectral range and negative sensitivity in the visible spectral range, with the possibility of reversing the photoresponse polarity in the UV spectral range through electrically polarizing the ferroelectric PbZr0.52Ti0.48O3.

High-performance self-powered visible-blind ultraviolet photodetection achieved by ferroelectric PbZr0.52Ti0.48O3 thin films

Mingming Chen et al.

Summary: A high-performance self-powered UV photodetector based on ferroelectric PZT thin films has been fabricated, simplifying device structure and fabrication process. The unique bulk photovoltaic effect of ferroelectric materials can enhance device performance compared to complex device structures. Additionally, the self-powered photocurrent is further enhanced when downward polarizing the PZT thin film.

Avalanche Effect and High External Quantum Efficiency in MgZnO/Au/ZnO Sandwich Structure Photodetector

Xinjing Zhao et al.

Summary: The new sandwich structure PD (SSPD) achieves avalanche multiplication by changing the position of electronic transmission, leading to high EQE. This structure exhibits high EQE at the interface of ZnO and MgZnO, offering potential guidance for high-performance ZnO-based avalanche PD in applications such as telecommunications, sensing, and single-photon detection.

Photovoltaic Effect Induced by Self-Polarization in BiFeO3 Films

Ze Li et al.

Summary: A significant visible-light photovoltaic effect is observed in BiFeO3 thin films in this study, under the influence of a built-in electric field. The photocurrent density, open-circuit voltage, and short-circuit current of the films show a significant increase after irradiation with light, which is closely related to the separation and transport of photogenerated carriers driven by the built-in electric field. This work may provide a method for improving the photoelectric performance of photovoltaic devices based on ferroelectric materials.
