Functionalization of Biphenylcarbazole (CBP) with Siloxane-Hybrid Chains for Solvent-Free Liquid Materials

Janah Shaya et al.

Summary: This study reports the synthesis of siloxane-functionalized CBP molecules for liquid optoelectronic applications. By conveniently functionalizing the molecules with heptamethyltrisiloxane chains, the liquid state of CBP can be achieved at room temperature. Despite the possibility of undesired side reactions, the target compounds were successfully synthesized with the used conditions. The solvent-free liquid CBP derivatives have potential importance for fluidic optoelectronic applications.

Covalent nanosynthesis of fluorene-based macrocycles and organic nanogrids

Ying Wei et al.

Summary: Gridization is an alternative method for creating macromolecules of various sizes, with organic nanogrids being closed structures at the nanoscale with well-defined extension edges and vertices. The different connection modes of fluorene-based macrocycles demonstrate the geometric possibilities of macrocycles and nanogrids.

Summary: Our study developed the first intermolecular DRET pair for specific sensing of nucleic acid sequences, demonstrating significantly improved fluorescence response by combining DFK with Cy5-labeled complementary sequences. The results indicate that DRET has low background noise when detecting sequences of interest.

Intravital imaging of real-time endogenous actin dysregulation in proximal and distal tubules at the onset of severe ischemia-reperfusion injury

Peter R. Corridon et al.

Summary: This study successfully visualized real-time actin cytoskeletal alterations in live proximal and distal kidney tubules during severe renal ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI), revealing significant declines in actin content post-reperfusion. The combination of hydrodynamic gene delivery and intravital microscopy provides a novel experimental tool to better understand how IRI modifies the cytoskeleton in vivo and extends current histopathological techniques.

Multicolor three-photon fluorescence imaging with single-wavelength excitation deep in mouse brain

Yusaku Hontani et al.

Summary: Multiphoton fluorescence microscopy, particularly three-photon microscopy, offers significant advantages for deep-tissue imaging due to long excitation wavelengths and high nonlinear confinement. A new three-photon excitation scheme has been developed to enable multicolor imaging with single-wavelength excitation, resulting in enhanced signal for some red fluorescent molecules. This advancement has the potential to open new opportunities for life science applications of three-photon microscopy.
