One in five children under the age of five has experienced caries, which is the most prevalent chronic disease in childhood. Failure to address a child's dental health can lead to complications in both the short and long-term. Therefore, primary care pediatric providers play a crucial role in preventing caries by addressing dental health during routine visits.
