Synthesis, Spectroscopic, Structural and Molecular Docking Studies of Some New Nano-Sized Ferrocene-Based Imine Chelates as Antimicrobial and Anticancer Agents

Mai M. Khalaf et al.

Summary: A new organometallic acetyl ferrocene imine ligand (HL) was synthesized by combining 2-acetyl ferrocene with 2-aminothiophenol. The electronic and molecular structure of HL was refined theoretically and the chemical quantum factors were calculated. Complexes of HL with metal ions (Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II)) were prepared and their structures were characterized. The anti-microbial and cytotoxic properties of HL and its metal chelates were evaluated, and the interactions between HL and various receptors were studied using molecular docking.

Design, Structural Inspection and Bio-Medicinal Applications of Some Novel Imine Metal Complexes Based on Acetylferrocene

Mai M. Khalaf et al.

Summary: A series of novel imine metal chelates with different metal ions were prepared and characterized using various analytical techniques in this study, and their properties in terms of anti-pathogenic and anticancer activities were investigated. By molecular docking, the binding of these chelates to breast cancer-related receptors was discovered.

Design, synthesis, antioxidant, antimicrobial, DNA binding and molecular docking studies of morpholine based Schiff base ligand and its metal (II) complexes

S. Sukkur Saleem et al.

Summary: This study synthesized and characterized a morpholine-based Schiff base ligand and its metal(II) complexes. They exhibited good free radical scavenging and antimicrobial activities, with the metal complexes showing stronger antimicrobial effects. In addition, L and its complexes may interact with DNA through an intercalative mode.
