Prevalence and clinical significance of incidental findings on CT attenuation correction for myocardial perfusion imaging

Joseph C. Lee et al.

Summary: Incidental findings on CTAC images in myocardial perfusion imaging are common, with many being clinically significant, especially malignant tumors. Routine reporting and further investigation of these incidental findings are recommended to ensure appropriate clinical management.

Prognostic Relationship Between Coronary Artery Calcium Score, Perfusion Defects, and Myocardial Blood Flow Reserve in Patients With Suspected Coronary Artery Disease

Krishna K. Patel et al.

Summary: The study assessed the prognostic importance of MBFR, perfusion defects, and CACS in patients with suspected coronary artery disease. Results showed that MBFR had the best predictive ability for death risk, with MBFR<2 associated with increased risk even in patients with CACS of 0.

Virtual attenuation correction: improving stress myocardial perfusion SPECT imaging using deep learning

Summary: In this study, a novel deep learning algorithm was proposed to provide virtual attenuation-corrected perfusion polar maps solely from non-attenuation-corrected data. The algorithm showed significantly improved diagnostic accuracy compared to conventional non-attenuation-corrected perfusion imaging.

Reproducibility of quantitative coronary calcium scoring from PET/CT attenuation maps: comparison to ECG-gated CT scans

Konrad Pieszko et al.

Summary: In this study, we evaluated the inter-scan and inter-reader agreement of coronary calcium (CAC) scores obtained from standard CAC scans and routine ultra-low-dose, ungated CTAC scans during cardiac PET/CT imaging. The results showed good agreement between readers and between the two scan protocols, with higher agreement observed for standard CAC scans. Most discordant readings occurred for scans with low extent of calcification.

Impact of attenuation correction for CZT-SPECT measurement of myocardial blood flow

Matthieu Bailly et al.

Summary: Most cardiac dedicated CZT-SPECT systems lack CT, while PET systems have it. AC correction significantly reduces MBF measurements, but has minimal impact on MFR measurements in CZT-SPECT systems.

Absolute Quantitation of Cardiac 99mTc-Pyrophosphate Using Cadmium-Zinc-Telluride-Based SPECT/CT

Sharmila Dorbala et al.

Summary: Absolute quantitation of Tc-99m-pyrophosphate provides accurate assessment and diagnosis of cardiac amyloidosis. The quantitative metrics show moderate positive correlations with LVMI (left ventricular mass index) and strong positive correlations with ECV (extracellular volume). Excellent intraobserver repeatability of the quantitative metrics was observed.

Myocardial Flow Reserve and Coronary Calcification in Prognosis of Patients With Suspected Coronary Artery Disease

Ahmed Aljizeeri et al.

Summary: This study investigated the incremental prognostic value of CAC and MFR in patients with suspected CAD, finding that both variables added predictive value beyond traditional clinical and MPI factors. While combining CAC and MFR may have a synergistic effect, this was not demonstrated in the multivariate model of this study.
