Summary: In a study comparing cancer risk in people with multiple sclerosis (MS) and those without MS using population-based data, it was found that the incidence of breast and colorectal cancers did not significantly differ between the two groups, while bladder cancer risk was increased in the MS cohort. Differences in the incidence of some cancers among MS patients may be attributed to ascertainment differences rather than actual disparities.

End of life in multiple sclerosis: Disability, causes and place of death among cases diagnosed from 1981 to 2010 in Pirkanmaa hospital district in Western Finland

Summary: The study examined the needs for end of life care in MS patients by analyzing causes, place of death, and level of hospitalization before approaching death. Results showed that high disability and immobility among patients likely led to infections as the most common cause of death. The majority of deaths occurred in central or university hospitals, with no significant difference in place of death between age groups.
