Molecular structure and catalytic activity of Fe(III) coordination compound with ONO-donor hydrazone ligand in the oxidation of cyclooctene by H2O2

Simin Goorchibeygi et al.

Summary: A new mononuclear Fe(III) hydrazone Schiffbase coordination compound was successfully synthesized and its catalytic activity in the oxidation of cyclooctene by hydrogen peroxide was investigated. The study showed that influencing parameters like temperature, solvent, and the ratio of reagents have a considerable effect on the catalytic activity of the compound. Additionally, UV-Vis spectroscopy revealed new catalytically active species formed by the interaction between the compound and H2O2, serving as intermediates in the oxidation process of the substrate.
