Metallic Nanoparticles in Heterogeneous Catalysis

Summary: Heterogeneous catalysis involves chemical processes at solid-gas or solid-liquid interfaces, where factors such as the shape and metal-support interfaces of catalyst metals play a significant role in catalytic properties. Advances in synthesis techniques and characterization tools have allowed for a better understanding of catalytic mechanisms. This review discusses the catalytic chemistry and electronic properties of metal nanoparticles, as well as the unique catalytic chemistry at metal-support interfaces.
