Ultrathin PdAuBiTe Nanosheets as High-Performance Oxygen Reduction Catalysts for a Direct Methanol Fuel Cell Device

Fengling Zhao et al.

Summary: A new visible-light-induced template technique has been developed to produce PdAuBiTe alloyed 2D ultrathin nanosheets, showing excellent oxygen reduction reaction activity and anti-CO poisoning properties. As cathode electrocatalysts in direct methanol fuel cells, the PdAuBiTe nanosheets can significantly improve power density and durability. In O-2/air, the power density can be increased to 235.7/173.5 mW cm(-2), higher than previous reports, and is 2.32/3.59 times higher than Pt/C.

Ultrasonication-assisted synthesis of 2D porous MoS2/GO nanocomposite catalysts as high-performance hydrodesulfurization catalysts of vacuum gasoil: Experimental and DFT study

Zohal Safaei Mahmoudabadi et al.

Summary: A novel method using ultrasonication was developed to synthesize highly porous MoS2/graphene oxide (M-GO) nanocomposites, leading to increased specific surface area and improved HDS activity. Various characterization techniques were utilized to study the physicochemical properties and catalytic performance of the nanocatalysts, with high surface area M9-GO nanocatalyst showing the best catalytic performance compared to traditional catalyst Co-Mo/gamma Al2O3. Additionally, density functional theory calculations revealed that the GO substrate can stabilize MoS2 layers, promoting the direct desulfurization reaction in the hydrodesulfurization process.

Rapid synthesis of gold-palladium core-shell aerogels for selective and robust electrochemical CO2 reduction

Ran Du et al.

Summary: Noble metal aerogels have great potential in electrocatalysis, but the challenge lies in rapidly fabricating NMAs with optimized performance. A disturbance-assisted dynamic shelling strategy has been developed to generate self-supported Au-Pd core-shell gels, showing outstanding CO selectivity and stability in the electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction. This strategy provides a new perspective for designing high-performance electrocatalysts for the CO2RR.

Analysis of Catalytic Activity of Au@Pd Core-shell Nanodendrites for Highly Efficient Ethanol Electrooxidation

Liang Yin-Yin et al.

Summary: Efficient Pd-based electrocatalysts were designed and fabricated in this study, with core-shell Au@Pd nanodendrites exhibiting significantly improved electrocatalytic activity for ethanol oxidation reaction in alkaline media. The enhancement of activity was attributed to a bimetallic synergistic effect and interaction between the Pd shell and Au core nanostructure.
