Design of self-cleaning molecularly imprinted membrane with antibacterial ability for high-selectively separation of ribavirin

Muning Chen et al.

Summary: The Ribavirin-imprinted membranes (RBVMIMs) with self-cleaning, anti-fouling, and antibacterial properties achieved selective separation of RBV from industrial effluent. The use of two functional monomers in the membrane synthesis promoted selective recognition of RBV-imprinted sites, leading to satisfactory rebinding selectivity and permselectivity, indicating the potential of RBVMIMs in practical applications. The development strategies in this work not only guided selective separation of valuable constituents but also provided reference for the development of high-performance membranes.

MOFs self-assembled molecularly imprinted membranes with photoinduced regeneration ability for long-lasting selective separation

Wendong Xing et al.

Summary: Molecularly imprinted membranes (MIMs) with photoinduced regeneration ability were constructed for long-lasting selective separation of ciprofloxacin (CF) using a visible light driven loading strategy. The prepared membranes showed enhanced rebinding selectivity and permselectivity for target molecules, and could undergo rapid regeneration due to their photocatalytic activity. This study demonstrates the potential of these membranes for practical applications.

Mimetic-core-shell design on molecularly imprinted membranes providing an antifouling and high-selective surface

Jian Lu et al.

Summary: The study developed a mimetic-core-shell structure for ciprofloxacin-imprinted membranes (CIMs), which enhanced antifouling performance and high-selective surface, achieving impressive rebinding selectivity and permselectivity. The structure-performance relationship of CIMs was explored, and their potential availability for selective separation applications was highlighted through filtration of semi-practical samples.

Irregular dot array nanocomposite molecularly imprinted membranes with enhanced antibacterial property: Synergistic promotion of selectivity, rebinding capacity and flux

Jian Lu et al.

Summary: This work presents the development of irregular dot array nanocomposite bisphenol A (BPA)-molecularly imprinted membranes (BPA-MIMs) through a modification-by-imprinting strategy, with superior selectivity, rebinding capacity, and flux. The membranes show impressive permselectivity coefficients and stability, along with concentration-dependent and time-dependent cumulative selectivity, demonstrating the potential for membrane-based water treatment and specific separation.

Insights into ion imprinted membrane with a delayed permeation mechanism for enhancing Cd2+ selective separation

Yu Xi et al.

Summary: A membrane fabrication method utilizing ion imprinted polymers on PVDF membrane was developed to enhance the selective separation of Cd2+ ions, showing promising results in batch rebind and permeation experiments. The specific binding sites in the ion imprinted membranes improved the rejection of Cd2+ ions and showed higher permselectivity factors compared to non-ion imprinted membranes. Chemical characterization and DFT calculation revealed the Cd2+ recognition sites on the functional groups of the ion imprinted membranes.
