Permeability and Stability of Hydrophobic Tubular Ceramic Membrane Contactor for CO2 Desorption from MEA Solution

Yunzhao Guo et al.

Summary: In this study, a hydrophobic ceramic membrane contactor was used to desorb CO2 from an MEA solution. The effects of operating conditions on CO2 desorption flux were investigated, and the stability of the membrane was evaluated. The hydrophobic ceramic membrane showed good stability and CO2 desorption capability.

Silane-grafted sand membrane for the treatment of oily wastewater via air gap membrane distillation: Study of the efficiency in comparison with microfiltration and ultrafiltration ceramic membranes

Hajer Aloulou et al.

Summary: Chemical modification of the sand microfiltration membrane resulted in a decrease in pore size, an increase in contact angle, enhanced hydrophobicity, and reduced water permeability. In experiments treating oily wastewater, the hydrophobic membrane outperformed hydrophilic ceramic membranes, showing stable and efficient performance.

Effective separation of water-DMSO through solvent resistant membrane distillation (SR-MD)

Yujun Zhang et al.

Summary: The study focused on treating organic waste or wastewater with high organic solvent content using solvent resistant membrane distillation (SR-MD) technology. By modifying ceramic membranes with excellent hydrophobicity and solvent resistant properties, the membranes showed high rejection of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and good separation performance. The results indicate the promising potential of SR-MD in treating complex industrial wastes with high organic solvent content.
