Structural Elucidation, Morphological Properties, and Dielectric Properties of Nickel-Substituted Cobalt and Lead-Based X-Type Hexagonal Ferrites

Muhammad Wajad et al.

Summary: Sol-gel auto-combustion technique was used to synthesize X-type hexagonal ferrites with different Ni content. The samples were annealed at 1050 degrees C, and XRD and SEM were employed to confirm the formation of X-type hexaferrites and observe the morphology of the samples respectively. The dielectric parameters exhibited frequency-dependent behavior, with higher values recommending the material for high-frequency applications such as EMI attenuation. Moreover, the optimized dielectric nature of the hexaferrites suggests their potential use in manufacturing multilayer chip inductors.

INFLUENCE OF BEAM ENERGY OF IONS ON PROPERTIES OF NICKEL NANOWIRES

Shehla Honey et al.

Summary: This work reports the changes in electrical conductivity and optical transmittance of nickel nanowire networks induced by proton ion beam irradiation. The electrical conductivity of the networks increases with higher proton beam energies, likely due to a reduction in wire-wire point contact resistance. The irradiation also improves the crystalline quality of the nanowires and increases the optical transmittance.

Structural, Morphological, Dielectric, and Magnetic Properties of Pb1-xCrxFe12O19 M-type Hexaferrites

Muhammad Zahid et al.

Summary: Chromium substituted M-type hexagonal ferrites with varying compositions were successfully prepared via sol gel method. The study investigated the structure, magnetic, and dielectric properties of these ferrites. It was found that increasing chromium concentration led to a decrease in grain size, lattice parameters, and cell volume, an increase in saturation magnetization, and a gradual increase in dielectric constant.

Enhanced Structural and Dielectric Properties of Calcium and Chromium-Based M-Type Hexagonal Ferrites with Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) Polymer Composites

Muhammad Zahid et al.

Summary: M-type hexagonal ferrite nanoparticles were successfully synthesized using sol-gel auto combustion method and then combined with polyvinyl alcohol. The nanoparticles were found to be uniformly dispersed in the polymer matrix, and their size and shape were well maintained. The structure of the nanoparticles was confirmed by X-ray diffraction, and the interaction between the polymer and the nanoparticles was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Scanning electron microscopy revealed the homogeneous distribution of the particles, and the crystallite size was measured using SEM and the Scherer formula. The dielectric properties of the composites were investigated, and it was found that the dielectric constant and dielectric loss decreased with increasing frequency, and further decreased with the addition of ferrite ratio in the polymer matrix.

Theoretical and experimental investigations: Synergetic effect of Yb-Cu substitution on different properties of hexagonal ferrites

Mishal Idrees et al.

Summary: This research project aimed to investigate the synergetic effect of trivalent ion Yb3+ and divalent ion Cu2+ co-substitution on X-type hexagonal nano ferrites. Various experiments were conducted on a series of synthesized samples with different concentrations, revealing that increasing Yb-Cu contents resulted in smaller crystallite size and unit cell volume, decrease in saturation magnetization and remanence magnetization, and a non-linear change in coercivity. The micrographs showed a mixture of spherical and rod-shaped grains, and the spectral analysis confirmed the formation of a single hexagonal phase structure.

Summary: This study synthesized and characterized Nd-Zn doped nanocrystalline Ca0.5Ba0.5-xNdxZnyFe12-yO19 hexaferrites via sol-gel auto combustion method, showing enhanced electrical and structural properties. Doping inversely affected lattice parameters and resulted in nanocrystalline sizes ranging from 16 to 29 nm. Nd-Zn doping significantly decreased dielectric losses, making these hexaferrites promising for high frequency applications.
