High-Performance Polyamide/Carbon Fiber Composites for Fused Filament Fabrication: Mechanical and Functional Performances

Sithiprumnea Dul et al.

Summary: The study focused on the 3D printing process of short carbon-fiber-reinforced polyamide composites and analyzed the impact of short carbon fiber on the properties of 3D-printed parts. Results showed that carbon fibers significantly improved the mechanical properties of PA/CF composites, particularly in the XY build orientation. While the presence of CF reduced the impact strength of 3D-printed parts, it slightly increased the fracture toughness of the composite compared to neat PA.

Potential of functionalized single walled carbon nanotubes in flexible thermoelectrics

B. J. Alonso Gutierrez et al.

Summary: Chemical functionalization of single walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) has been shown to be an important strategy in modifying their electron transport mechanism and thermoelectric behavior. This study demonstrates the impact of functional groups on the thermoelectric performance of SWNTs and f-SWNTs. The results reveal significant differences in thermoelectric properties between SWNTs and f-SWNTs, with SWNTs-COOH exhibiting the best performance among the functionalized SWNTs.

Investigation of the Effects of Multi-Wall and Single-Wall Carbon Nanotubes Concentration on the Properties of ABS Nanocomposites

Brenda Janett Alonso Gutierrez et al.

Summary: The effects of two types of carbon nanotubes, MWCNT and SWCNT, on the thermal and mechanical properties of ABS nanocomposites were investigated. ABS/SWCNT composite filaments showed higher tensile properties and decreased electrical resistivity with increased nanofiller content, described by a power law. SWCNT nanocomposites exhibited better overall cumulative results compared to MWCNT nanocomposites.
