2D/2D nanohybrid of Ti3C2 MXene/WO3 photocatalytic membranes for efficient water purification

Summary: Developing durable photocatalysts for efficient antibiotics degradation is crucial for environmental purification. In this study, hierarchical organic-inorganic TCPP/Bi2MoO6 heterojunctions were successfully synthesized and showed superior photocatalytic performance in the visible light degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride. The high catalytic activity was attributed to the interfacial interaction between TCPP and Bi2MoO6, which facilitated charge carrier separation and enhanced visible-light absorbance.

Summary: The control of interface morphology and charge-carrier utilization in metal sulfide photocatalysts is crucial for improving the separation efficiency of electrons and holes and increasing the surface reaction active sites. In this study, a Ti3C2/ZIS/CdS composite material was synthesized, which showed improved electron-hole separation efficiency and enhanced charge transfer due to the formation of an all-sulfide S-scheme heterojunction. The addition of Ti3C2 further reduced the recombination of electrons and holes, leading to a high hydrogen production rate.

Fabricating covalent organic framework/CdS S-scheme heterojunctions for improved solar hydrogen generation

Ultrathin carbon-coated Zr3+-ZrO2 nanostructures for efficient visible light photocatalytic antibiotic elimination

Summary: This study introduces a novel modified solvothermal strategy to synthesize carbon-coated Zr3+-ZrO2 composites with enhanced visible light absorption and photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline. Rational copolymerization strategy engineered C self-doped g-C3N4 for efficient and robust solar photocatalytic H2 evolution

3D interconnected nanoporous Ta3N5 films for photoelectrochemical water splitting: thickness-controlled synthesis and insights into stability

Summary: Solar-driven photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting relies on efficient and stable photoanodes for the water oxidation reaction. Here, three-dimensional interconnected nanoporous Ta3N5 film photoanodes with controlled thickness were successfully fabricated, showing the highest PEC performance at 900 nm thickness. Electrochemical oxidation at high anodic potentials resulted in severe performance degradation, which could be partially recovered by NH3 re-treatment, while anchoring a dual-layer Co(OH)(x)/CoOOH co-catalyst shell significantly enhanced PEC performance and stability.

Nitrogen vacancy induced in situ g-C3N4 p-n homojunction for boosting visible light-driven hydrogen evolution

The increased surface areas and surface hydroxyl groups compared to commercial Ta2O5 and pristine Ta2O5-x mesocrystals provide more surface reactive sites and high electron density centers for trapping photo-generated holes.
