Laser potential of Pr3+ doped chalcogenide glass in 5-6 μm spectral range

Mikhail F. Churbanov et al.

Summary: The cross-relaxation processes in Pr3+ doped selenide glass efficiently populated the lowest excited state of Pr3+ ions, leading to the observation of stimulated emission at 5.5-5.9 mu m corresponding to the transition of Pr3+ ions. This study demonstrates the potential for achieving efficient stimulated emission in vitreous matrices.

Enhanced tunable mid-infrared emissions by controlling rare earth ion energy transfer processes in multifunctional multiphase solids

Yanchao Li et al.

Summary: The study integrated nanocrystalline units with unique properties into an amorphous frame with high transmittance and infinite ductility to enhance MIR emission. Significant progress was made in achieving excellent 3 mu m luminescence and full coverage of the 2 mu m MIR atmospheric window using a co-doped system with spatially distributed optically active nanocrystal units.

Dy3+-doped Ga2S3-Sb2S3-La2S3 chalcogenide glass for mid-infrared fiber laser medium

Anping Yang et al.

Summary: The addition of La2S3 significantly enhances the thermal stability of the Ga2S3-Sb2S3 glass, with the 20Ga2S3-75Sb2S3-5La2S3 composition showing the best thermal stability for fiber drawing. Dy3+-doped GSLS glass exhibits intense emissions at 2.95 μm and 4.40 μm, with high quantum efficiencies and large stimulated emission cross sections, making it a promising candidate for mid-IR fiber laser medium.

Summary: LnP19 is a dual-functional probe designed for the EBV oncoprotein LMP1, selectively targeting and inhibiting LMP1 while demonstrating cytotoxic effects on LMP1-positive cells. Conjugation with cyclen-based europium(III) and ytterbium(III) complexes allows for LMP1-targeted imaging and cancer monitoring using EuP19 and YbP19.
