Facile control of surface properties in CeO2-promoted Mn/TiO2 catalyst for low-temperature selective catalytic reduction of NO by NH3

Min-Jae Kim et al.

Summary: In this study, the surface properties and performance of CeO2-promoted Mn/TiO2 catalysts in the low-temperature selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO by NH3 were investigated by changing the impregnation sequence of Mn and Ce. The results showed that the co-impregnated catalyst had higher NO conversion and improved metal dispersion, providing more adsorption sites. Additionally, the acidity of the catalyst could be controlled by changing the synthesis method.

Effect of pH on antioxidant properties of ablated CeO2 nanoparticles in photocatalytic process

Maxim Alexandrovich Pugachevskii et al.

Summary: The physicochemical properties of ablated cerium dioxide nanoparticles were studied in the photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue in the presence of a ZnO nanocatalyst. It was found that CeO2 nanoparticles exhibit good antioxidant properties due to increased content of structural defects in the surface atomic layers of ablated nanoparticles. The antioxidant activity of the particles was found to increase with the pH of the aqueous solution.

Tuning PL emission energy and bandgap with Ni dopant of MgO thin films

Ahmet Taser et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of Nickel additive on Magnesium oxide thin films produced by SILAR for the first time. The addition of Ni was found to alter the optical, structural, and morphological properties of the samples, leading to changes in band gaps, transmittance, and reflection, as well as the formation of NiO. The results demonstrate that Ni doping on MgO thin films can be achieved using the SILAR deposition technique.

Defect Engineering on a Ti4O7 Electrode by Ce3+ Doping for the Efficient Electrooxidation of Perfluorooctanesulfonate

Hui Lin et al.

Summary: Defect engineering, such as Ce3+ doping, was used in this study to enhance the electrochemical reactivity of Ti4O7, resulting in accelerated interfacial charge transfer and increased production of hydroxyl radicals. The Ce3+-doped Ti4O7 electrodes exhibited more stable electrocatalytic activity and were able to effectively mineralize PFOS, with a higher oxidation rate compared to pristine Ti4O7 electrodes. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results suggest that Ce(3+) doping created oxygen vacancies that contributed to the enhanced reactivity and stability of the electrodes.

Role of lattice oxygen in methane activation on Ni-phyllosilicate@Ce1-xZrxO2 core-shell catalyst for methane dry reforming: Zr doping effect, mechanism, and kinetic study

Sonali Das et al.

Summary: Sandwich structured core-shell Ni-Phyllosilicate@Ce1-xZrxO2 catalysts with optimal Zr loading in the Ce1-xZrxO2 shell are found to greatly enhance the intrinsic activity for DRM due to increased lattice oxygen mobility of the ceria-zirconia shell and stronger metal-support interaction with Ni. Involvement of lattice oxygen in methane activation and dissociation contributes to the higher DRM activity of the Zr-doped catalyst with maximum oxygen storage capacity, as inferred from rigorous kinetic and mechanism studies.
