Airong Xu et al.

Summary: A high-performance PEI composite with enhanced elasticity and flexibility has been successfully constructed using a green and ultraconvenient strategy at ambient temperature. The composite can easily be molded into various shapes and displays excellent elasticity and flexibility like sponge. It also exhibits ultra-fast and ultra-strong water adsorption efficiency, as well as efficient Cu2+ adsorption capacity.

Study on the SBA-15 Silica and ETS-10 Titanosilicate as Efficient Adsorbents for Cu(II) Removal from Aqueous Solution

Doina Humelnicu et al.

Summary: The efficiency of Cu(II) removal from aqueous solution by silica SBA-15 and titanosilicate ETS-10 was investigated. The maximum adsorption capacity of both adsorbents was determined by studying various experimental parameters. The Langmuir model was found to be the best fit to describe the equilibrium adsorption, with ETS-10 having a higher adsorption capacity than SBA-15. Pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order kinetic models were the most applicable to describe the adsorption kinetics. Thermodynamic parameters indicated that the adsorption of Cu(II) onto the two adsorbents is spontaneous and endothermic.

Highly selective and ultrafast removal of cadmium and copper from water by magnetic core-shell microsphere

Shunli Wan et al.

Summary: The new magnetic hybrid adsorbent Fe3O4@SiO2@MO with a core-shell structure effectively removes Cd(II) and Cu(II) from water due to its special coating structure. The presence of Ca(II) and Mg(II) has little impact on the removal efficiency, and the adsorbent can treat heavy-metal-polluted wastewater effectively in batch experiments.
