Uncertainty analysis of rising sewer models with respect to input parameters and model structure using Monte Carlo simulations and computational fluid dynamics

Ahmed Khalil et al.

Summary: The study implemented the WATS model in both 1-D and CFD frameworks to investigate uncertainties caused by model parameters and mathematical form. It found that the rate of sulfide formation per unit area of the biofilm is the most influential parameter, and parameters controlling anaerobic hydrolysis and fermentation are also significant.
