Multifaceted analysis of products from the intermediate co-pyrolysis of biomass with Tetra Pak waste

Wojciech Jerzak et al.

Summary: This study investigates the co-pyrolysis of two types of biomass (pine bark and wheat straw) with Tetra Pak waste (TPW). The addition of TPW to the biomass reduced char mass, decreased carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen contents, and increased wax and tar yields. Various organic compounds were found in the tars and waxes. The addition of Tetra Pak had a positive effect on the hydrogen content of the pyrolysis gas.

Slow pyrolysis of end of life tyres (ELTs) grades: Effect of temperature on pyro-oil yield and quality

S. M. Al-Salem

Summary: This study explores the thermo-chemical conversion of end of life tyres into pyrolysis oil, aiming to replace conventional fossil fuels. Results show that pyrolysis oil produced from tyre cracking contains a high percentage of diesel range hydrocarbons, which can potentially be blended with conventional fuels to reduce dependency on fossil-based ones.

A review on kinetic study approach for pyrolysis of plastic wastes using thermogravimetric analysis

Vahid Mortezaeikia et al.

Summary: The importance of balancing consumption and recycling to manage the life cycle of plastics wastes is evident. Pyrolysis is a promising way to thermal degradation of plastics for energy recovery and production of value-added materials. Comprehensive studies on kinetic methods and models are necessary to accurately describe waste plastics degradation.

Pyrolysis of agricultural waste biomass towards production of gas fuel and high-quality char: Experimental and numerical investigations

Agata Mlonka-Medrala et al.

Summary: This study investigated the pyrolysis of agricultural biomass and found that the quality, yield, and gas component concentration of pyrolytic gas increased with temperature, while the concentration of carbon dioxide decreased. Condensed vapours were found to be rich in phenolic and aromatic compounds.
