Turn -on fluorometric probe for hydroquinone and catechol based on an in situ reaction between protamine sulfate and dihydroxybenzene isomers and the formation of fluorescent polymer nanoparticles

Jinshui Liu et al.

Summary: A environmentally friendly turn-on fluorescent method for detecting HQ and CC was developed using fluorescent polymer nanoparticles synthesized by crosslinking protamine sulfate with HQ or CC in an aqueous solution. The method showed a linear relationship between fluorescence intensity and HQ or CC concentration, with detection limits of 0.21 and 0.33 mu M, and high selectivity with no interferences from common substances. This method successfully detected HQ and CC in spiked water samples with satisfactory results.

Aluminium MOF fabricated electrochemical sensor for the ultra-sensitive detection of hydroquinone in water samples

Sim Siew Ming et al.

Summary: In this study, an electrochemical sensor based on Al-MOF (CAU-1-MOF) fabricated glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was utilized for the detection of hydroquinone (HQ), an environmental pollutant. The synthesized CAU-1-MOF showed promising results in HQ detection, demonstrating good sensitivity and anti-interference properties. The proposed sensor also exhibited excellent recovery rates in the determination of HQ in water samples, indicating its practicality and reliability in real-life applications.

Simultaneous electrochemical detection of hydroquinone and catechol using MWCNT-COOH/CTF-1 composite modified electrode

Meng Yang et al.

Summary: The carboxylated multi-walled carbon nanotubes and covalent triazine framework co-modified electrode showed good selectivity and high sensitivity for the simultaneous detection of hydroquinone and catechol. The concentrations of CC and HQ exhibited good linearity and the detection limits were 0.17 μM and 0.12 μM, respectively. The prepared electrochemical sensor can be utilized for determining contents of HQ and CC in real samples.
