Continuous production of raloxifene hydrochloride loaded nanostructured lipid carriers using hot-melt extrusion technology

Derick Muhindo et al.

Summary: This study aimed to produce orally administered raloxifene hydrochloride loaded nanostructured lipid carrier formulations with extended drug release using HME technology and probe sonication. The NLCs prepared showed smaller particle sizes, higher entrapment efficiency, and better drug release compared to traditional methods. The formulations demonstrated good physical stability over time, indicating that this technique may be more industry-friendly.

Confectionery Xylitol Gum-Containing Tablets for Medical Application and the Sintering Effect on Gum Tablets

Tatsuaki Tagami et al.

Summary: The study prepared medical gum tablets containing ibuprofen or acetaminophen and examined the effect of the sintering process on the physical properties of the solid materials. Sintering markedly improved the hardness of the gum tablets, but the sintering temperature and time affected the hardness, with excessive heat treatment resulting in preparation failure or reduced hardness.
