Symmetry properties of stable solutions of semilinear elliptic equations in unbounded domains

Samuel Nordmann

Summary: This paper examines stable solutions of a semilinear elliptic equation in convex domains, extending classical results to unbounded domains under certain conditions. Positive answers for stable non-degenerate solutions are provided, as well as additional requirements for straight cylinder domains. These results are seen as an extension of De Giorgi's conjecture, with applications in establishing asymptotic symmetries for stable solutions.

Non-existence of patterns and gradient estimates in semilinear elliptic equations with Neumann boundary conditions

Samuel Nordmann

Summary: This article discusses patterns of semilinear elliptic equations with Neumann boundary conditions, showing that assumptions of convexity and stability in a classical theorem can be relaxed. The introduction of the Robin-curvature Laplacian operator reveals the impact of domain geometry on solution shapes. Results are extended to unbounded domains, improving upon previous research and expanding on De Giorgi's conjecture.

Pattern formation in a reaction-diffusion-ODE model with hysteresis in spatially heterogeneous environments

Summary: This paper investigates a reaction-diffusion-ODE system in non-uniform media, including diffusive and non-diffusive species, modeling biological pattern formation. The existence and stability of stationary solutions under different diffusion coefficient conditions are proved using various methods.

EXISTENCE AND STABILITY OF PATTERNS IN A REACTION-DIFFUSION-ODE SYSTEM WITH HYSTERESIS IN NON-UNIFORM MEDIA

Izumi Takagi et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the existence and stability of steady states of a reaction-diffusion-ODE system in the theory of biological pattern formation. Sufficient conditions on coefficients are provided to ensure the existence of patterns far from equilibrium with jump discontinuity and verify their stability in a weak sense. The asymptotic behavior of steady states as the diffusion coefficient tends to infinity is also considered.
