Histological analysis of fat grafting with platelet-rich plasma for diabetic foot ulcers-A randomised controlled trial

Grant Switzer Nolan et al.

Summary: The study found that using fat grafts with PRP in treating diabetic foot ulcers increased neovascularization and graft survival. However, histological results were not correlated with wound healing time. Future studies should explore the mechanisms behind enhanced fat graft survival further.

Platelet-Rich Plasma Monotherapies for Androgenetic Alopecia: A Network Meta-Analysis and Meta-Regression Study

Aditya K. Gupta et al.

Summary: Our analysis of 25 trials showed that the efficacy of PRP treatment regimens is influenced by the frequency of PRP sessions, chemical activation, number of centrifugations, age and sex of patients, and the design of PRP administration. High session frequency, chemically-activated PRP, double centrifugation, younger age, female sex, and whole-head administration were associated with improved PRP efficacy in increasing total hair density at 6 months from baseline.

Ahmed Abdelfattah Afify et al.

Summary: Various treatment options are available for vitiligo, with fractional CO2 laser and PRP showing potential as adjuvant therapies to NB-UVB. The study found statistically significant improvement in all treatment groups in terms of reduction in vitiligo patch surface area, but no significant difference between the groups.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Improves Erectile Function: A Double-Blind, Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Clinical Trial

Evangelos Poulios et al.

Summary: This study is the first double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections in patients with mild to moderate erectile dysfunction (ED). PRP injections led to a significant improvement in erectile function compared to placebo, with high patient satisfaction and no adverse events observed. Further high-quality studies are needed to validate these findings, but PRP may be a promising addition to urologists' treatment options for ED.
