Lepto-axiogenesis in minimal SUSY KSVZ model

Junichiro Kawamura et al.

Summary: In this study, the lepto-axiogenesis scenario in the minimal supersymmetric KSVZ axion model was investigated. By introducing only one Peccei-Quinn (PQ) field and vector-like fields with Yukawa couplings, the PQ field was stabilized by radiative correction. The dynamics of the PQ field, including rotational motion under logarithmic potential and thermalization effect via gluon scattering, was analyzed. The baryon asymmetry, effective number of neutrinos, and dark matter density composed of axion and neutralino were also studied.

Baryon Asymmetry of the Universe from Lepton Flavor Violation

Kyohei Mukaida et al.

Summary: Charged-lepton flavor violation (CLFV) is a distinct feature of physics beyond the standard model, which plays an important role in the early universe. This Letter points out that efficient CLFV interactions create new pathways for generating the baryon asymmetry of the universe, and the conversion factor from lepton flavor asymmetry to baryon asymmetry is naturally explained by the suppression of charged-lepton Yukawa couplings squared.

Gravitational wave and CMB probes of axion kination

Raymond T. Co et al.

Summary: This study discusses how rotations of an axion field in field space lead to an era of kination domination and investigates the impact of this cosmological scenario on the spectrum of possible primordial gravitational waves, finding a triangular peak feature. Future observations of gravitational waves may probe axion dark matter and baryon asymmetry, revealing important details of structure formation in the universe.

Composite neutrinos and the QCD axion: Baryogenesis, dark matter, small Dirac neutrino masses, and vanishing neutron electric dipole moment

Sabyasachi Chakraborty et al.

Summary: The proposed model combines a chiral gauge theory with a QCD axion to address the emergence of Dirac neutrinos and solve the strong CP problem. The interplay between the composite sector and the axion can also explain baryogenesis and dark matter abundance through cogenesis without violating current constraints. Predictions include a Delta N-eff >= 0.14 and m(a) in the range O(10) mu eV-O(10) meV, which can be tested by upcoming CMB experiments and axion searches.

Predictions for axion couplings from ALP cogenesis

Raymond T. Co et al.

Summary: By adding the axion-like particle (ALP) to the Standard Model and considering the field velocity in the early universe, researchers have proposed the ALP cogenesis theory to explain the densities of baryons and dark matter simultaneously, with predicted couplings between ALP and photons, nucleons, and/or electrons. The predicted couplings are orders of magnitude larger than those for the QCD axion and conventional ALP misalignment mechanism for dark matter. As a result, ALP cogenesis is within reach of future experimental ALP searches and dark matter studies.

Lepto-axiogenesis

Raymond T. Co et al.

Summary: A new mechanism for baryogenesis is proposed, utilizing the rotation of the PQ field and the dimension-five operator for Majorana neutrino masses. The study also explores the production of QCD axion dark matter and its connection to baryon asymmetry, as well as the potential signals in rare kaon decays from the radial component of the PQ field.

R-parity violation axiogenesis

Raymond T. Co et al.

Summary: The rotation of the QCD axion field, aided by B-L violation from supersymmetric R-parity violating couplings, can convert into the baryon asymmetry of the Universe. This scenario, with constraints from grand unified theories and various mechanisms, can be studied through nucleosynthesis, proton decay, and axion dark matter.

Gravitational waves and dark photon dark matter from axion rotations

Raymond T. Co et al.

Summary: In the early universe, an axion rotating in field space can generate dark photons via tachyonic instability, leading to explosive particle production and stochastic gravitational waves. This scenario offers a new narrative for dark photon dark matter. The warm dark photons may be detectable in future 21-cm line surveys.

Axiogenesis from SU(2)R phase transition

Keisuke Harigaya et al.

Summary: The baryon asymmetry of the universe is explained by rotations of the QCD axion in field space and baryon number violating processes in the minimal extension of the Standard Model by a non-Abelian gauge interaction, SU(2)(R). The mass scale of the SU(2)(R) gauge boson is fixed as a function of the QCD axion decay constant, with a significant portion of the parameter space excluded by new gauge boson searches. The high-luminocity LHC will further probe the viable parameter space.

Wash-In Leptogenesis

Valerie Domcke et al.

Summary: This mechanism, wash-in leptogenesis, operates at low masses of right-handed neutrinos without requiring CP violation, even in the regime of strong wash-out. By generalizing standard freeze-out leptogenesis to a nonminimal cosmological background, it allows for the generation of a nonvanishing B - L asymmetry using chemical potentials generated at high temperatures.
