Accelerated wound healing with an ionic patch assisted by a triboelectric nanogenerator

Seol-Ha Jeong et al.

Summary: The wearable ionic triboelectric nanogenerator (iTENG) patch has been introduced as a potential therapy to accelerate wound healing by providing electric potential to impaired tissues. Studies have shown that iTENG patches can promote cell migration, proliferation, and secretion of angiogenic growth factors in both normal human dermal fibroblasts and dermal fibroblasts from diabetes mellitus patients. Additionally, rapid wound closure has been validated in in vivo animal models through electrical stimulation using iTENG patches.

Protein-Inorganic Hybrid Nanoflowers as Efficient Biomimetic Antibiotics in the Treatment of Bacterial Infection

Ying Zhou et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated that bovine serum albumin-enveloped copper phosphate-based protein-inorganic hybrid nanoflowers have intrinsic peroxidase-like activity, serving as efficient biomimetic antibiotics against bacterial infection by generating high toxic reactive oxygen species (ROS) via nanozyme-mediated approach. These nanoflowers exhibit admirable peroxidase-like activity to efficiently eliminate drug-resistant bacteria under physiological conditions, enhance wound healing post pathogen-induced infection, and minimize potential tissue damage, showing high biocompatibility and excellent biosafety. The design of protein-inorganic hybrid nanozymes with high biosafety and minimal side effects could offer a new direction for future development of nanozyme-based antibacterial platforms.
