Development of oral curcumin based on pH-responsive transmembrane peptide-cyclodextrin derivative nanoparticles for hepatoma

Summary: In this study, a pH-responsive cyclodextrin derivative and curcumin-loaded nanoparticles were developed to enhance the efficacy of curcumin in hepatoma treatment. The nanoparticles showed improved cell uptake and pH-responsive uptake, leading to higher accumulation in hepatoma cells. The nanoparticles also exhibited the ability to escape from lysosomes and induce apoptosis. In vivo experiments demonstrated excellent anti-cancer effects when given orally. Overall, these findings highlight the potential of the developed nanoparticles as an effective delivery system for oral curcumin in cancer management.
