Isotope-dilution liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry for quantification of human retinol binding protein 4 in serum

Xue Tian et al.

Summary: This paper presents a liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method for the absolute quantification of serum RBP4 with high sensitivity and specificity. The method includes a series of procedures for sample preparation and separation, followed by quantitative analysis using a mass spectrometer. The results demonstrate that the method is accurate and reliable, conforming to guidelines for bioanalytical method validation.

An LC-MS/MS method for the simultaneous quantification of 32 steroids in human plasma

Marketa Simkova et al.

Summary: A robust and rapid LC-MS/MS method for the quantification of 32 steroid hormones in human plasma was developed. The method was validated for the analysis of C18-, C19-, and C21- steroids, demonstrating its applicability in physiological and pathophysiological conditions. This method will serve as a useful tool for investigating steroid-related diseases and can be expanded to analyze other biological matrices.

Measurement of urine albumin by liquid chromatography-isotope dilution tandem mass spectrometry and its application to value assignment of external quality assessment samples and certification of reference materials

Yizhao Chen et al.

Summary: A candidate RMP for urine albumin based on LC-IDMS/MS using human serum albumin as calibration standard has shown optimal performance, with good commutability of developed CRMs in a preliminary study. The EQA results from clinical laboratories using different immunoturbidimetric methods were generally comparable with assigned target values determined by the candidate RMP.

Quantitation of glycated albumin by isotope dilution mass spectrometry

Shin Aleks et al.

Summary: This study developed an assay for absolute quantitation of glycated albumin based on isotope dilution liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. The method showed good analytical performance with a linear correlation between LC-MS/MS and Lucica method. This approach allows simultaneous quantitation of glycated and non-glycated peptides.

Development of an LC-MS/MS Proposed Candidate Reference Method for the Standardization of Analytical Methods to Measure Lipoprotein(a)

Santica M. Marcovina et al.

Summary: The size polymorphism of apolipoprotein(a) affects immuno-chemical methods for lipoprotein(a) quantification. A LC-MS/MS method with a human recombinant apolipoprotein(a) reference material was developed, showing good accuracy, precision, and comparability, making it a potential candidate reference method for lipoprotein(a) standardization.

Development of a multiplex mass spectrometry method for simultaneous quantification of urinary proteins related to respiratory health

Sarah J. D. Nauwelaerts et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that proteins in urine can serve as alternative sources for biomarkers of respiratory health monitoring in children, while simultaneously quantifying biomarkers of airway epithelium integrity as well as variations in renal function and urinary dilution. This will aid further exploration on whether urine can be a good surrogate source for biomarkers of airway epithelium integrity, and understanding the complex relationship between cause and effect in children's respiratory health monitoring.

Liquid Chromatography-Multiple Reaction Monitoring-Mass Spectrometry Assay for Quantitative Measurement of Therapeutic Antibody Cocktail REGEN-COV Concentrations in COVID-19 Patient Serum

Xuefei Zhong et al.

Summary: REGEN-COV, a cocktail of two human monoclonal antibodies, has shown promising results in reducing SARS-CoV-2 viral load in COVID-19 patients. A liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry method was developed for the determination of REGEN-COV concentrations in serum samples from patients participating in clinical trials. The concentrations measured by this method were comparable to those measured by a validated immunoassay.
