Experimental and kinetic study of pyridine oxidation under the fuel-lean condition in a jet-stirred reactor

Ling-Nan Wu et al.

Summary: This study provides a detailed analysis of the oxidation process of pyridine under fuel-lean conditions through experiments and model predictions. A new pyridine LTO 2.0 model is proposed and successfully predicts the experimental data of pyridine and its major oxidation products. The results are of significant importance for understanding the nitrogen evolution mechanism of pyridine in real coal combustion processes.

Pyrolysis study of N, N-dimethylformamide at low pressure

Zhen-Guo Fan et al.

Summary: N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) can be effectively degraded by pyrolysis. The main pathways of DMF consumption are hydrogen abstraction and dissociation, leading to the formation of methane, ethylene, and carbon monoxide. Other nitrogen-containing compounds related to NOx are also produced. These findings are important for further research on the treatment of DMF in exhaust fumes through pyrolysis and the clean utilization of amine fuels.

Structural effects of C3 oxygenated fuels on soot formation in ethylene coflow diffusion flames

Yong Ren Tan et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of the structure of three C3 oxygenated fuels on soot formation in laminar coflow diffusion flames when blended with ethylene. It was found that different oxygenated fuels have different effects on the soot volume fraction (f(v)), with IPA causing a significant increase, while DMM and DMC showed initial increases followed by decreases in f(v) as the proportion of oxygenated fuel increased.

Pyrolysis and Combustion Chemistry of Pyrrole, a Reference Component for Bio-oil Surrogates: Jet-Stirred Reactor Experiments and Kinetic Modeling

Matteo Pelucchi et al.

Summary: Fast-pyrolysis bio-oils from lignocellulosic biomass contain nitrogen-containing compounds that affect the production of nitrogen oxides during combustion. This study investigates the pyrolysis and combustion chemistry of pyrrole as a reference fuel component for surrogate models, providing new experimental data for kinetic model validation and identifying pathways for further research in N fuel combustion chemistry.

Study of Thermal Behavior of Moxa Floss Using Thermogravimetric and Pyrolysis-GC/MS Analyses

Min Yee Lim et al.

Summary: This study investigated the thermal behavior and pyrolysis products of moxa floss by analyzing samples with different storage years and ratios using a thermogravimetric analyzer. The results showed that moxa floss is highly combustible and easily ignites, with pyrolysis products mainly consisting of aromatic hydrocarbons, ketones, acids, and alkanes at relatively low abundances.

Online Monitoring the Key Intermediates and Volatile Compounds Evolved from Green Tea Roasting by Synchrotron Radiation Photoionization Mass Spectrometry

Keke Qi et al.

Summary: Online monitoring of volatile compounds during tea roasting using synchrotron radiation photoionization mass spectrometry revealed various aroma compounds and key intermediates. Dehydration was identified as the initial step during roasting, with oxygen in the air accelerating product formation. Time-resolved analysis proved useful for evaluating different roasting processes and determining optimal temperature and duration.
