Regulation of oxygen vacancies in SrTiO3 perovskite for efficient photocatalytic nitrogen fixation

Jiahui Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, oxygen vacancy engineered SrTiO3 materials were prepared and found to significantly improve the N-2 reduction efficiency in photocatalysis. Furthermore, an appropriate amount of oxygen vacancies promoted the separation of photo-generated charge carriers, enhancing the photocatalytic performance. The fabricated defective SrTiO3 also exhibited excellent stability, showing promising potential for further applications.

Xuyang Wu et al.

Summary: In this study, A-site deficient BSCF nanofibers with a diameter of 300 nm were synthesized for the first time, showing significantly enhanced oxygen evolution reaction (OER) activity and excellent stability during long-term testing. The optimized BSCF nanofibers (BSCF-80-ES) exhibit a low potential of 1.54 V at 10 mA cm(-2) in 1 M KOH, making them a promising oxygen catalyst for aqueous and flexible solid-state zinc-air batteries.

Dynamically Stable Active Sites from Surface Evolution of Perovskite Materials during the Oxygen Evolution Reaction

Pietro P. Lopes et al.

Summary: Perovskite oxides exhibit OER activity due to the interaction between a thin surface layer of Co hydr(oxy)oxide and trace-level Fe species in the electrolyte, leading to the creation of dynamically stable active sites. This surface evolution process driven by A-site dissolution and O-vacancy creation improves stability and activity-stability factor for CoOxHy/LSCO compared to nanoscale Co-hydr(oxy)oxide clusters.

Exsolution manipulated local surface cobalt/iron alloying and dealloying conversion in La0.95Fe0.8Co0.2O3 perovskite for oxygen evolution reaction

Jiaojiao Ma et al.

Summary: In this study, single Co metal was successfully exsolved from A-site defective La0.95Fe0.8Co0.2O3 (LFCO) above 600 degrees C, forming Co/LFCO composite. The higher co-segregation energy of Co than Fe cations and the thermodynamic stability of LaFeO3 at high temperatures led to enhanced conductivity and activity for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) of Co/LFCO compared to CoFe/LFCO.

Photocatalytic activity of perovskite SrTiO3 catalysts doped with variable rare earth ions

Yue-Xin Song et al.

Summary: In this study, 15 types of rare earth ions doped perovskite SrTiO3 powders were synthesized using the sol-gel method. The results showed that while the crystal structure remained constant, the morphology and optical properties varied with the incorporation of different Re ions. An in-depth analysis of the relationship between morphology, optical properties, and photocatalytic activity of the synthesized SrTiO3 catalysts doped with different Re ions provided insight into the factors influencing catalytic performance.

Cation substitution of B-site in LaCoO3 for bifunctional oxygen electrocatalytic activities

Xingdong Jiang et al.

Summary: In this study, LaCoO3-based materials were modified by substituting the Co site with Mn, resulting in samples with different compositions. The introduction of Mn led to an increase in the content of active Mn4+ and Co3+, improving the electrocatalytic activities. The optimization of oxygen catalytic activities was attributed to the increased electrical conductivity and the presence of Mn4+ and Co3+ ions.
