3D interconnected g-C3N4 hybridized with 2D Ti3C2 MXene nanosheets for enhancing visible light photocatalytic hydrogen evolution and dye contaminant elimination

Dong Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, a high-efficiency 3D/2D g-C3N4/Ti3C2 heterojunction photocatalyst was designed for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution and organic dye elimination. The excellent performance of the material is attributed to its 3D interconnected porous structure and the incorporation of Ti3C2 nanosheets, providing a high specific surface area and efficient charge migration. Mechanisms for the improved photocatalytic performance were analyzed through characterization measurements, active species analysis, and density functional theory calculations.

Exploring the Effects of the Interaction of Carbon and MoS2 Catalyst on CO2 Hydrogenation to Methanol

Pingping Cui et al.

Summary: Utilizing green hydrogen for the hydrogenation of CO2 to form methanol is a promising route for achieving carbon neutrality. However, developing a catalyst with high activity and selectivity for methanol production from CO2 hydrogenation is challenging due to the chemical inertness of CO2 and its multi-path conversion characteristics. In this study, highly active carbon-confining molybdenum sulfide (MoS2@C) catalysts were prepared and showed improved catalytic performance and long-term stability. The MoS2@C catalyst achieved a sustained conversion of approximately 32.4% of CO2 with a selectivity of 94.8% towards MeOH for at least 150 hours.

Magnetic Fe3S4/MoS2 with visible-light response as an efficient photo- Fenton-like catalyst: Validation in degrading tetracycline hydrochloride under mild pH conditions

Hu Zhou et al.

Summary: Magnetic Fe3S4/MoS2 composites with a visible light response were prepared and their degradation activity towards tetracycline hydrochloride (TCH) was investigated. The results show that the Fe3S4/MoS2 composites exhibit much higher removal rate of TCH compared to pure Fe3S4 or MoS2 under different pH values. The proposed mechanism suggests that the high catalytic activity of the composites is attributed to the acidic microenvironment near the surface, reducing the production of ferric hydroxide sludge.

Bifunctional catalysts AC/Cu2O/CuO for removal of organic pollutant with enhanced visible light photocatalysis

Jun Zhao et al.

Summary: A novel floating activated carbon/Cu2O/CuO heterojunction was synthesized by chemical method, serving as a new photocatalyst for the simultaneous adsorption and photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants in water under visible light. The relative molar ratio of Cu2+ to Cu+ was found to impact the photocatalytic activity, with a 1:1 ratio leading to improved heterojunction impedance and gap width reduction. Characterization analysis showed that the AC/Cu2O/CuO heterojunction could reduce photocorrosion of Cu2O and enhance visible light utilization by improving carrier transportation resistance.
