A microRNA Cluster Controls Fat Cell Differentiation and Adipose Tissue Expansion By Regulating SNCG

Ruth Rodriguez-Barrueco et al.

Summary: The miR-424(322)/503 cluster encoded by H19X regulates multiple cellular functions and is crucial for fat mass expansion. By targeting SNCG, it controls a conserved genetic program involved in white adipocyte differentiation and commitment, allowing adipose tissue enlargement under tight regulation. Decreased miR-424(322) levels in obese individuals lead to increased SNCG expression, a mechanism normalized upon weight loss.

CircRNA Profiling Reveals CircPPARγ Modulates Adipogenic Differentiation via Sponging miR-92a-3p

Jiyao Wu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the role of circPPAR gamma in adipogenesis and found that it promotes adipocyte differentiation while inhibiting proliferation and apoptosis. Furthermore, circPPAR gamma was found to interact with miR-92a-3p and YY1, revealing a novel regulatory pathway in adipogenesis and adipose deposition.

Circular RNA regulation of fat deposition and muscle development in cattle

Yuhong Gao et al.

Summary: Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are important transcriptional regulatory RNA molecules that can regulate the transcription of downstream genes. These circRNAs play a crucial role in the formation of bovine fat and muscle development by competing for miRNA binding and blocking mRNA translation. This review provides an overview of the differential expression of circRNAs in bovine fat and muscle tissues and the understanding of how circRNAs regulate the proliferation and differentiation of bovine fat and muscle cells through competing endogenous RNA networks, serving as a reference for future research on the molecular mechanisms of circRNAs in regulating fat deposition and muscle development in cattle.

Zuoyou Ding et al.

Summary: The study identified that circular RNA circPTK2 is upregulated in adipose tissues from cachectic patients and plays a role in promoting lipolysis and reducing adipogenesis by competitively binding to miR-182-5p.
