This paper is dedicated to honoring Vasily Nikolaevich Lykosov, a renowned Russian scientist specializing in mathematical modeling of turbulent boundary layer dynamics and its interactions with atmospheric circulation, climatic processes, and land active layer. The paper briefly describes his scientific contributions, highlighting the integration of theoretical models and numerical experiments and the importance of understanding the connections between local and global physical phenomena.
