Interaction of VvbZIP60s and VvHSP83 in response to high-temperature stress in grapes

Qian Zha et al.

Summary: The occurrence of frequent, extreme high temperatures affects agriculture and causes irreversible damage during the ripening period of grapes. Breeding high-temperature-tolerant varieties of grapes and studying the regulatory mechanisms of high-temperature tolerance are important ways to address this issue. In this study, VvbZIP60s was identified as a key gene for heat tolerance, while VvHSP83 played a crucial role in helping plants adapt to high temperatures by assisting in the refolding and degradation of denatured proteins. This research provides a foundation for analyzing the mechanism of high-temperature tolerance in grapes.

Zinc improves growth and antioxidant enzyme activity in Aloe vera plant under salt stress

Saba Kavian et al.

Summary: Environmental stresses, especially salinity, can reduce plant growth and yield. Nutrient fertilization, specifically zinc (Zn) application, is an effective strategy to mitigate the destructive effects of salt stress on Aloe vera. This study demonstrated that the addition of 5 mg Zn kg(-1) can enhance plant growth and alleviate oxidative stress induced by salt stress.

Three stress-responsive NAC transcription factors, Pp-SNACs, differentially and synergistically regulate abiotic stress in pear

Mudassar Ahmad et al.

Summary: NAC proteins are important regulators in plant development and stress tolerance. In this study, the authors investigated the transcriptional regulation of PpNACs during abiotic stress signaling in pear. They identified three differentially expressed NAC genes, PpNAC88, PpNAC92, and PpNAC130, which belong to the stress-responsive NAC subgroup in pear. The authors also found that these PpNACs, named Pp-SNACs, have high expression levels under salt stress and ABA treatment. Further experiments revealed the transcriptional regulation of Pp-SNACs on stress-responsive genes and the formation of protein complexes by PpNAC88 and PpNAC130, suggesting their multidirectional roles in abiotic stress response in pear.
