Resonant collisions between lumps and periodic solitons in the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili I equation

Jiguang Rao et al.

Summary: The resonant collisions between lumps and periodic solitons of the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili I equation are investigated in detail. Two types of resonant collisions, partly resonant and fully resonant, cause the lumps to become localized in time as instantons. In the fully resonant collisions, the lumps are completely localized in both time and two-dimensional space and are referred to as rogue lumps.

Dynamics of circular oscillator arrays subjected to noise

Balakumar Balachandran et al.

Summary: This article investigates the phenomenon of energy localization by considering an array of coupled Duffing oscillators. The study shows that the system exhibits multi-stable behavior and a localized mode within a certain parameter range. The effects of white noise, linear coupling, and nonlinear coupling on the strength of localization and the minimum noise addition needed to suppress energy localization are examined. The study also explores the modeling of large array dynamics with smaller subsystems and considers dynamics with non-Gaussian noise.

A study on resonant collision in the two-dimensional multi-component long-wave-short-wave resonance system

Jiguang Rao et al.

Summary: This study investigates the resonant collisions between breathers and rational solitary waves in a two-dimensional multi-component resonance system. The results show that the resonant collision of breathers can lead to their splitting or combination, displaying a mixed behavior of splitting and recombination processes. Additionally, the lumps and line rogue waves can also undergo partial and complete resonant collisions with breathers, exhibiting various phenomena.

Riemann-Hilbert Problems and Soliton Solutions of Nonlocal Reverse-Time NLS Hierarchies

Wenxiu Ma

Summary: This paper focuses on establishing Riemann-Hilbert problems and presenting soliton solutions for nonlocal reverse-time nonlinear Schrodinger (NLS) hierarchies associated with higher-order matrix spectral problems. The Sokhotski-Plemelj formula is used to transform the Riemann-Hilbert problems into Gelfand-Levitan-Marchenko type integral equations. A new formulation of solutions to special Riemann-Hilbert problems with the identity jump matrix, corresponding to the reflectionless inverse scattering transforms, is proposed and applied to construction of soliton solutions to each system in the considered nonlocal reverse-time NLS hierarchies.

Rogue lumps on a background of kink waves for the Bogoyavlenskii-Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation

Pei Xia et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the behavior of rogue lumps on a background of kink waves for the Bogoyavlenskii-Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation, and obtains a new family of determinant semi-rational solutions through the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili hierarchy reduction method combined with the Hirota bilinear method. It is found that rogue lumps arise from the kink waves background and eventually decay back to the background as truly localized lumps.

Resonant collision of lumps with homoclinic orbits in the two-dimensional multi-component long-wave-short-wave resonance interaction systems

Jiguang Rao et al.

Summary: The resonant collisions of lumps and homoclinic orbits are investigated in a two-dimensional multi-component long-wave-short-wave resonance interaction system. The dynamic behaviors of the lumps exhibit significant changes in resonance collisions, which can be classified into partial resonant collisions and complete resonant collisions.

Riemann-Hilbert Problems and Soliton Solutions of Type (λ*, -λ*) Reduced Nonlocal Integrable mKdV Hierarchies

Wen-Xiu Ma

Summary: Reduced nonlocal matrix integrable modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) hierarchies are obtained through two transpose-type group reductions in the matrix Ablowitz-Kaup-Newell-Segur (AKNS) spectral problems. Riemann-Hilbert problems and soliton solutions are formulated based on the reduced matrix spectral problems.

Nonlocal integrable mKdV equations by two nonlocal reductions and their soliton solutions

Wen-Xiu Ma

Summary: Two nonlocal group reductions were used to generate a class of nonlocal reverse-spacetime integrable mKdV equations from the AKNS matrix spectral problems, leading to soliton solutions through solving corresponding generalized Riemann-Hilbert problems with the identity jump matrix.

A new class of nonlinear superposition between lump waves and other waves for Kadomtsev-Petviashvili I equation

Zhao Zhang et al.

Summary: This study introduces a new constraint condition to construct a nonlinear superposition where the lump wave does not collide with other waves. By introducing velocity resonance, a soliton molecule consisting of a lump wave, a line wave, and any number of breather waves is derived for the first time. The new constraints mentioned in this paper will change the traditional understanding of the interaction between a lump wave and other waves, and can be applied to other (2+1)-dimensional integrable systems.
