Metal-supported solid oxide fuel cells operating with reformed natural gas and sulfur

Martha M. Welander et al.

Summary: The performance, long-term durability, and thermal cycling tolerance of metal supported solid oxide fuel cells (MS-SOFCs) operating with natural gas reformate fuels have been assessed. It is found that MS-SOFCs can successfully operate with reformate fuels and maintain good performance, long-term durability, and thermal cycling tolerance.

An interesting application-oriented design of high-strength anode support for protonic ceramic fuel cells by a non-proton-conducting cermet

Zuzhi Huang et al.

Summary: One key problem of protonic ceramic fuel cells (PCFCs) is the insufficient mechanical strength of the anode support. This study proposes a design using a nonproton-conducting cermet to enhance the mechanical strength of PCFCs. The research shows that the integrated single cells exhibit high peak power density and satisfactory long-term stability at high temperatures.
