Analysis of multilayered carbon fiber winding of cryo-compressed hydrogen storage vessel

Xiaohang Zhao et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a cryo-compressed hydrogen storage method to meet the storage requirements of fuel cell vehicles and enhance the storage density of hydrogen. The analysis of a cryo-compressed hydrogen storage vessel reveals that the thickness of carbon fiber increases and the performance of the storage vessel decreases at cryogenic conditions. The main influence of low temperature on the cryo-compressed vessel is concentrated on the hoop stress of helical winding and the axial stress of hoop winding.

Enhancing Hydrogen Adsorption Capacity of Metal Organic Frameworks M(BDC)TED0.5 through Constructing a Bimetallic Structure

Renjie Li et al.

Summary: Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) have promising application prospects in hydrogen storage, but their storage capacity is limited. A series of bimetallic MOFs with different content ratios were constructed using a hydrothermal method, and Cu0.625Ni0.0375(BDC)TED0.5 showed the best hydrogen storage capacity, which was 22% higher than that of monometallic Ni(BDC)TED0.5. The enhanced capacity was attributed to the improved surface area and micropore volume of the bimetal MOFs by introducing an appropriate amount of bimetallic atoms.

Muhammad Yaseen et al.

Summary: In this study, Hausmannite Manganese oxides nanocubes (Mn3O4) deposited on graphene oxide (GO) nanosheets were synthesized and composited together as Mn3O4/GO via in-situ pot hydrothermal technique. The synthesized materials were characterized by various analytical procedures, showing that the Mn3O4/GO composite had a large active surface area and surface functionalities, which resulted in excellent catalytic performance. Moreover, the Mn3O4/GO-NaClO system exhibited good catalytic response in the ultra-fast and highly efficient, environment friendly and cost-effective oxidative desulfurization and denitrogenation of fuel oils.

Muhammad Yaseen et al.

Summary: In this study, zinc and manganese loaded activated carbon derived from corn cobs were used for adsorptive desulfurization of model and real fuel oils. The results showed that Zn/AC and Mn/AC performed better in removing dibenzothiophene, following pseudo 2nd order kinetics and Freundlich adsorption isotherm model. The prepared adsorbents remained highly active for six repeated cycles with minimal decrease in desulfurization performance under the optimized reaction conditions.

Trimesic acid-Ni based metal organic framework derivative as an effective destabilizer to improve hydrogen storage properties of MgH2

Jisheng Yang et al.

Summary: A new type of trimesic acid-Ni based metal organic framework (TMA-Ni MOF) was synthesized, and its derivative Ni@C was introduced into MgH2 through high energy ball milling to prepare a Mg-Ni@C-H composite, which showed accelerated hydrogen absorption/desorption kinetics and reduced activation energy. The carbon-wrapped structure of the composite prevented aggregation of nanosized particles, ensuring stable hydrogen capacity and kinetics during high-rate cycling.

Fabrication of MnO2 NPs incorporated UiO-66 for the green and efficient oxidative desulfurization and denitrogenation of fuel oils

Sidra Subhan et al.

Summary: In this study, MnO2 nanoparticles were deposited on Zr-based UiO-66 molecular organic framework to create MnO2/UiO-66 composite, which was oxidized with NaClO for catalytic oxidative desulfurization and denitrogenation of fuel oil. Characterization of the composites confirmed uniform deposition of MnO2 and increased surface area of UiO-66, leading to high efficiency in removing sulfur and nitrogen compounds from the fuel oil. The mechanism involved the synergy among Mn4+, Zr4+, and NaClO species, producing strong oxidizing radicals for effective desulfurization and denitrogenation.
