Influence of microstructure and applied current on the electrical conductivity of SmBaCo2O5+d cathode in solid oxide fuel cell

Kyeong Eun Song et al.

Summary: In this study, the electrical conductivity of SmBaCo2O5+d (SBCO) was measured and analyzed in relation to microstructure. The results showed that the microstructure was influenced by sintering temperature and composite cathode composition. The highest electrical conductivity was observed in SBCO sintered at 1150 degrees C and the addition of carbon black significantly increased the conductivity. The conductivity of SBCO samples increased with relatively low currents applied.
