Guoxi Luo et al.

Summary: As the use of smart wearable electronics becomes more prevalent, there is a need for stretchable, durable, and breathable electrodes that can easily integrate with the electronics and provide comfort to users over extended periods. However, progress in developing a scalable fabrication process for such electrodes has been limited. In this study, a novel stretchable polymer-carbon nanotube composite electrode was developed using a fibrous polyurethane mat decorated with conductive carbon nanotubes. The fabricated electrodes exhibited superior stretchability, conductivity, stability, durability, and air permeability.

Improved surface properties in spray-coated PU/TiO2/graphene hybrid nanocomposites through nonsolvent-induced phase separation

Salman Mirzadeh et al.

Summary: Superhydrophobic and antibacterial polyurethane nanocomposite films loaded with TiO2 and graphene nanoparticles were fabricated via a spray coating technique. The combination of TiO2, graphene, and nonsolvent led to a hierarchical structure with high uniform surface roughness, resulting in superhydrophobic/roll-off behavior and increased antibacterial activity to around 99%. The presence of TiO2 and graphene nanoparticles in the nonsolvent-induced phase separation (NIPS) process played a significant role in promoting the surface properties of the films.
