The composite facilitated the photosensitized degradation of dyes under blue light, with SPR influence and direct band gap transition contributing to the optical absorption and carrier transportation at the interface of Bi/BPCI.

Summary: Mesoporous silica-coated bismuth nanoparticles conjugated with mucin-16 aptamer were synthesized and used as dual-modal contrast agents for cervical cancer imaging with CT and US modalities. Targeted NPs showed higher accumulation in cancer cells compared to non-targeted NPs, and the bismuth NP concentrations correlated linearly with CT numbers and US image intensity values. These results suggest that the MSBi@MUC16 NPs are high-performance hybrid contrast agents for US/CT dual-modal imaging of cervical cancer.
