Synthesis of polyaniline/clay nanocomposites by in situ polymerization and its application for the removal of Acid Green 25 dye from wastewater

Summary: The synthesis, characterization, and adsorption studies of polyaniline (PANI) and polyaniline/montmorillonite clay (PANI/MMT) nanocomposites have been conducted. The PANI/MMT nanocomposites, fabricated using in situ polymerization method, showed complete removal of Acid Green 25 (AG25) dye, with the adsorption data fitting a pseudo-second-order kinetic model. Due to its efficient and rapid dye removal, PANI/MMT nanocomposites are promising adsorbents for continuous adsorption systems.

Elaboration and properties of a new SDS/CTAB@Montmorillonite organoclay composite as a superb adsorbent for the removal of malachite green from aqueous solutions

Summary: The SDS/CTAB@Mt composite, prepared through the synergistic effect of CTAB and SDS, showed a highly negatively charged surface and good adsorption properties for malachite green. The adsorption process followed the Langmuir model and pseudo-second-order kinetics, with a maximum adsorbed amount of 1021.45 mg/g. Thermodynamic parameters indicated that the adsorption of malachite green onto the composite was spontaneous, exothermic, and led to a decrease in randomness of adsorbed molecules.

Microwave Enhanced Synthesis of Sulfonated Chitosan-Montmorillonite for Effective Removal of Methylene Blue

The adsorption of methylene blue onto the composite followed Pseudo-second-order kinetic and Langmuir isotherm model, with a maximum adsorption capacity of 188.2 mg g(-1) at 303 K. Thermodynamic analysis showed that the adsorption reaction was favorable and spontaneous, indicating the potential efficacy of the composite as a biohybrid adsorbent for cationic dyes.
