2D materials and heterostructures for photocatalytic water-splitting: a theoretical perspective

Summary: This review summarizes the recent developments of 2D materials and heterostructures for photocatalytic water-splitting applications from a theoretical perspective. The design strategies of 2D materials and heterostructures for water-splitting, as well as the methods to evaluate hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions and solar-to-hydrogen efficiency, are discussed.
