Graph correlated attention recurrent neural network for multivariate time series forecasting

Xiulin Geng et al.

Summary: Multivariate time series (MTS) forecasting is a pressing problem, and attention-based methods can alleviate the limitations of recurrent neural networks. However, they fail to learn time-varying patterns. To address this, a GCAR model is proposed, which exhibits stability and achieves the highest predictive accuracy in experiments.

Multi-objective prediction intervals for wind power forecast based on deep neural networks

Min Zhou et al.

Summary: Wind power forecast plays a critical role in modern power systems, and this paper proposes a novel interval forecast model based on LSTM to construct prediction intervals effectively. An improved PI evaluation criterion and a multi-objective optimization framework are introduced to investigate the relationship between PI estimation error and average width. The proposed model and algorithm's effectiveness is demonstrated through experiments on real world wind power dataset.

A novel ensemble deep learning model with dynamic error correction and multi-objective ensemble pruning for time series forecasting

Shuai Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel ensemble deep learning model is proposed for accurate and stable time series forecasting by generating various basic predictors and enhancing them through a new dynamic error correction method. The model combines basic predictors using a stacking-based ensemble method with kernel ridge regression as the meta-predictor, and an enhanced genetic algorithm is used for ensemble pruning to increase forecasting accuracy and stability. Experimental results showed the superiority of the proposed model in dealing with time series forecasting tasks.

An adaptive hybrid system using deep learning for wind speed forecasting

Paulo S. G. de Mattos Neto et al.

Summary: The integration of wind power into traditional electricity grids is challenging due to the unpredictable nature of wind speed. Wind speed forecasting is crucial for decision-making in the energy sector, and this paper proposes a method to improve its accuracy by combining linear and nonlinear forecasts with exogenous variables. Results show that this method outperforms statistical techniques, Machine Learning models, and hybrid systems in most cases.

Alex Bihlo

Summary: Using conditional deep convolutional generative adversarial networks, the study successfully predicts geopotential height and two-meter temperature over Europe, but fails to accurately predict total precipitation. The use of Monte-Carlo dropout helps improve the forecasting model's skill by quantifying uncertainty in current weather forecasts.
